Obama's VP pick

Who should Obama pick as his Vice Presidential running-mate? It needs to be someone who fills in the real and perceived gaps in Obama's experience and persona. If you ask me, the ideal candidate would be:

1) A grey-haired white guy, to add gravitas
2) But still relatively young and handsome so as to further contrast with McCain
3) Someone with extensive military experience
4) But not just a soldier, it would be great if he were a military intellectual also (possibly a Rhodes scholar or something like that)
5) He should have foreign policy and diplomacy experience
6) After all of that, if he could be, or at least pull off, some kind of 'folksy' or vaguely Southern aspect, that would be good
7) But not the 'fake phony idiot' kind of Southern, ala Bush
8) It would be nice if he could be someone who has supported Hillary Clinton, so the pick would be seen as a gesture of reconciliation within the party
9) But not a fierce Clinton partisan who has been involved in all of the terrible behavior of late
10) It would be a bonus if he were from a state that Democrats aren't guaranteed but could pick up if he were on the ticket

Oh, if only there were someone like that! If only, lord, if only!

Oh wait, there is

If you think Wesley Clark would make a good VP for Obama thats fine. I think he would too, (but have you ever seen him speak?) You obviously chose your requirements of what Obama needs specifically to point at Wesley Clark. You should mention that Obama needs someone who will increase his popularity with people named Wesley.

I don't really think that we need someone with grey hair, (but not too old and still kind of handsome (your gay for clark by the way)), having extensive military experience, a military intellectual, or someone with folkseyness for a VP. Frankly, I think you are trying to market Obama to the "Retired Educated Brass" demographic.

I think Joe Bidden would make a better VP. He has grey hair too, but he is smart and knowledgeable on a lot of issues and a ton of foreign policy experience. And being smart enables him to be a straight talker.

Who would you rather have a beer with (and not go all the way with)?

Hee hee, I definitely tailored the requirements. But yeah, Biden has tons of foreign policy experience is a straight shooter and hillarious. He also has the only reasonable plan for 'peace' in Iraq - divide it up into three. On the minus side, he doesn't lead to any reconciliation with the Clinton voters (some of whom, for some reason I can't fathom, are as pissed off at Obama as we are at Hillary - check out the MFs who blog at mydd.com). Also Biden doesn't bring any new states into play. And Deleware is a piece of shit. Charge me $6 to drive across 11 miles?
